THE INFLUENCE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on information systems within organizations. The objectives were to analyze how AI technologies enhance automation, improve decision-making processes, and transform organizational efficiencies. A survey research design was employed to collect quantitative data from a sample of 250 respondents, selected using the Taro Yamane formula to ensure representation across industries leveraging AI applications. The study focused on a case study of a healthcare organization in Uyo, known for its adoption of AI-driven predictive analytics for patient care and operational management. Conducted in Uyo, the reliability coefficient score was calculated at 0.89, indicating strong internal consistency in survey responses. The findings highlighted that AI integration enhances information systems by enabling predictive insights, automating routine tasks, and optimizing resource allocation. The study recommends that organizations explore AI applications, prioritize ethical AI development frameworks, and foster a culture of innovation to harness AI capabilities effectively and drive sustainable organizational growth.
